“Importance, on the other hand, has to do with results. If something is important, it contributes to your mission, your values, your high priority goals”. Ahhhhhh yes, I randomly pointed out this topic for week 27. Eyes closed……aim………point……. blog………and credit to our Most Illustrious Stephen R. Covey. As I properly prepare to prevent poor performance, the idea of prioritization is dominate and I accept. I don’t quite know which hand we started with, but I will say the left because we are never right. I want results, you want results, they want results; but who is willing to do the work to make sure that Crisis, Pressing Problems, and Deadline-driven projects are not all we focus on. Yes, the feeling may be of importance, prestige may be derived by load distribution (delegation or maybe not), and even a dopamine release from activity and involvement. The point is to not spend 90% of your time on pressing issues, and you get what’s remaining……..10% to build relationships, recognize new opportunities, planning, recreation, and prevention. Some of our greats are victim to not having enough time for what is important to their happiness. I’m wondering……what is the replacement for happiness? It cannot be Urgent work that must be accomplished anyway, it has to be the feeling of avoiding the 10% which turns into some twisted power. These are just assumptions therefore credit goes to the proper interpreter. Cynics may scoff, that a reactionary lifestyle will correlate to the important activities being addressed first, and those activities that need more initiative and proactivity, need more intention and attention to perform. Ok I will reel it all in! As we approach the Commencement of our Journey, we must prioritize our needs and wants list, keep focus on our DMP’s, keep up with a Mastermind, and realize that we are not alone. We are being release into a world that lack these skills, and it will be quite easy to become responsive to Crisis, Pressing Problems, and Deadline-driven projects. That is to simply avoid the other tasks of relationship building, recognizing new opportunities, planning, recreation, and prevention. The road is new, and the Commencement is the real start of our Journey. Congratulations! You have just experienced another great lesson from www.brilliance365.com.
